Why we use it

In short – because it is awesome and open source. The WordPress environment is a perfect companion for the ActionApp UI library. WordPress provides the backend functionality, security model and content creation capabilities to the ActionApp environment. It also provide storage for design elements and application documents, which could also be external via APIs.

How we use it

This is not a normal WordPress template or plugin. It is not designed to create blogs, in fact comments are turned off by default. This is for creating content sites and business applications.
